The shop is located at 463 King Street West, Hamilton, Ontario. The shop is largely appointment-only, but most days someone will have walk-in availability. We do all styles of tattooing, traditional american, traditional Japanese, fineline, black and grey realism, and much more. There is no phone at the shop, we each do our own booking, all booking is done via email directly to who you’re looking to get tattooed by:

Please be patient with responses to emails, expect 24-48 hours in between. Please be concise and economical with your emails as can be. Include placement/idea/if you're travelling to get tattooed/if you have a budget. And don't hesitate to ask questions, but try to organize them all into one email, so they can be answered efficiently. 1. Where is Made in the Shade Tattoo located?
We’re located at 463 King Street West, Hamilton, Ontario. Our studio is easy to find, and there is parking available behind the building for your convenience. We’re proud to be part of the vibrant Hamilton community!

At Made in the Shade Tattoo, we specialize in traditional Japanese tattoos, traditional American tattoos, black and grey realism tattoos, and fine line tattoos. Our talented artists can create custom designs tailored to your personal style and vision.


3. How much does a tattoo cost?
We charge an hourly rate, which ranges from $150 to $180 per hour depending on the artist you choose. During your consultation or via email/dm, we’ll give you an estimate based on the size, complexity, and placement of your tattoo.


4. Do I need to make an appointment, or do you accept walk-ins?
We accept both walk-ins and appointments, though we recommend booking ahead for larger or custom pieces. Walk-ins are subject to artist availability. Appointments require a deposit, which is applied to your final cost.


5. What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that plans can change, but if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide us with at least 48 hours' notice. If you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice or fail to show up, your deposit will be forfeited.


6. How old do I need to be to get a tattoo?
In Ontario, you must be 18 or older to get a tattoo. We cannot tattoo minors, even with parental consent.


7. Can I bring my own design, or do you provide custom artwork?
We love working with clients to bring their ideas to life! You can bring your own design, or if you need assistance, our artists will work with you to create a custom design that reflects your vision.


8. How much time will my tattoo take?
Tattoo time varies depending on the size, detail, and placement of the design. Our artists will give you an estimated time during your consultation. Larger pieces may require multiple sessions.


9. How should I take care of my tattoo after the session?
Proper aftercare is essential to ensure your tattoo heals beautifully. We’ll provide detailed aftercare instructions to help you maintain your tattoo.


10. Do you offer any other services besides tattoos?
Currently, we focus exclusively on providing high-quality tattoos. No piercings.
